Discover the vibrant heart of Romania
Welcome to Bucharest, a city where rich history meets modern allure. often called the "Little Paris of the East" earned its nickname in the late 19th/early 20th century due to its stunning Belle Epoque architecture, wide boulevards, and French-inspired culture.

Relax and rejuvenate at Therme Bucharest
For the ultimate relaxation, you must visit the Bucharest Therme Spa. It's the perfect way to relax for one whole day and it is only 10 minutes away from Bucharest airport. Experience a tropical paradise with various pools, saunas, and wellness treatments. They have 3, 4.5 or 12 hour stays. I did the 3 hour as i needed to get to the airport. However that was nowhere near enough time. There are 3 sections/zones. They are Galaxy which offers a fun thrilled experience with waterslides and is perfect for families.
The 2nd zone is The palm. This is where the main attraction is it has the big pool along with jacuzzi and a pool bar. There is also a variation of mineral pools which can help soothe the skin in many ways.
The 3rd Zone is Elysium. I spent all 3 hours here trying out all of the different saunas and steam rooms they have to offer. I also thought it was pretty cool as they had a sauna with a cinematic feel. when I entered there was a David Attenborough wildlife documentary on. This creates an escape for your mind and can truly relax and experience all your senses.
If you book the Elysium zone it also covers you for all other zones too. So a 12 hour ticket is definitely worth doing.
Food and drink in the spa
Refuel and treat yourself at the bars and restaurants in the Galaxy and Palm zones. From refreshing drinks to delicious meals and snacks, you can indulge while taking a break from pools, saunas, and slides.
You get a wrist band which is how you pay for everything and then you pay the full amount at the end of your visit.

Other things to see and do
If I'm totally honest there isn't a lot to do there However you should visit the palace of parliament which there is guided tours. But remember to bring your passport as a form of I.D.
I would also say you must do a day trip to Sinaia. You can go there on a direct train from Bucharest. It takes about 1 hour but the town is so quiet and it set amongst a beautiful backdrop.
The Peles castle is very popular with tourists and is worth vising. I went during winter time and also went up on the cable car up to 1400metres where the mountains are covered in snow. Perfect conditions for skiing or just admiring the view.
Things to know before visiting
- Peles castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays
- You must bring your passport in order to go on tour of palace of Parliment
- you must have flip flops, towel and swimsuit for the spa. These are available to rent from the shop inside.
