Packing light and smart
As an experienced traveller primarily flying from Bristol Airport with Ryanair, I've mastered the art of travelling light and cheaply. My top tip for saving money is to pack as minimally as possible. This not only avoids extra baggage fees but also makes your journey more flexible and less stressful.
- Home bargains do a great under-seat bag which is 40X30X20. This bag is exact sizes so do not overpack otherwise you will be charged £70. This bag also has a strap to go around your shoulders so its easier to carry.
- Check the liquids rule as every airport has different scanners- buy 100ml toiletries and once they are empty refill them so in the long run you are saving money.
- You can take food through security so a homemade sandwich or roll could mean a saving going through the airport.
- bit obvious but remember the essentials like phone, wallet, passport and boarding pass.
- Checklist a few days before so nothing is forgotten.
- For Short trips wear the same clothing for outward and inward journey with a change of under garments.

Parking
For those departing from Bristol Airport, consider options like Ashdale B&B, which offers airport parking for £60 for 4 days. This can be a convenient and cost-effective solution for your car while you're away, especially when combined with smart flight booking strategies. With Ron and Mary taking good care of your vehicle they will also provide airport drop off and pick up. Located in Downside Farm which is literally behind the airport. Booking can be made over the phone and pay in cash once you arrive.
Their phone number is 07990510084

Finding the cheapest flights
The single best piece of advice I can give for securing cheap flights is to always search and book on Mondays and Tuesdays. These days often yield the lowest prices. Additionally, travelling during off-peak times or seasons will almost always result in significantly cheaper fares. With these tips, you will be able to search for the cheapest flights with ease.
Skyscanner is most probably the most efficient and best option to look for flights as it compares against all other websites and gives the cheapest option for you.
Things to note
If you are going solo there is 2 things across all my trips which i look out for they are
Nomadtable- This is a free app to download. This app lets you go to the place you are visiting and either set up an event like going out for a meal or join an event with other solo travellers in that area.
Free walking tours- I enjoy doing these and I specifically look in the area for one. These are usually around 2 hour walking tours which you pay in gratuities. But you learn about the place whilst also meeting people from all over the world.
Money- I tend to bring a small amount of cash just incase you either lose your card or if a shop only accepts cash.
Tea or coffee- Some hotels provide tea or coffee in the room. However they do not supply any milk. If you enjoy milk you could bring 1 or 2 UHT milks in your case with you or ask for extra when having a cuppa on the plane.
City Tax- Be aware most cities have a city tax which you pay when your arrive at your hotel. The amount depends on the country.
